Jordan Scott Paganelli Remembered in Video at Rally
LEONARDTOWN, MD - November 16, 2009
On November 9, 2009 at 1:44 p.m., after a 22-month, 29-day struggle against cancer, Jordan Scott Paganelli passed away. The valiant young man died the way he wanted; surrounded by family and loved ones, at home and at peace. On Friday, Nov. 13, in the Leonardtown High School Gymnasium, Jordan was honored and remembered in a stirring Celebration Life Rally.
Hundreds of people having had their lives touched by Jordan attended the ceremony and heard from both of Jordan's Principals: Mr. O'Neil from LHS and Mr. Wood from St. Mary's Ryken High School. There were prayers, a candle lit moment of silence and a moving address by Mr. Baxter of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church and moments where students and the community paid tribute to the young man.
Jordan's father stated, "He was the very definition of grace, courage, and strength under pressure. He was the purest, most magnificent embodiment of selflessness and love that I have ever witnessed. His calm and humble strength radiated positive energy and love on everyone around him."
Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St John’s Church on St John’s Road in Hollywood; the day he would have turned 18-years old.
Jordan’s Internment was held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Arlington Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative or at the link below. “Jordan’s hope was that someday a cure would be found for his deadly form of cancer and that no other child would have to suffer his fate,” stated the family.
